Abstract

In this proposal we consider that Milton Friedman's statement that the only responsibility of
companies is to maximize profits is not valid, at present the environmental problem is a task for
everyone to solve, this includes companies, who in addition to being in constant renovation to
meet the needs of consumers, monitor competition, This includes companies, which in addition
to constantly renewing themselves to meet the needs of consumers, monitor competition, comply
with government requirements and the demands of society in general, at the same time some of
them take from the environment the natural resources necessary for the production of their
products, which are generally scarce or finite, resulting in ecological damage due to the depletion
of natural resources and the pollution they produce.
This dilemma is increased by the fact that the role of companies in the welfare of society is
fundamental, as they generate income that allows the healthy functioning of the economy,
however, the externalities that they produce in the environment have been left aside, it is a cost
that they have not assumed despite making efforts through Environmental Audits and the
distinctive of Socially Responsible Company (ESR), both voluntary, which do not guarantee the
ecological, social and economic sustainability of companies.

However, in order to build alternatives, it is necessary to understand the complex relationship
that exists between companies (as part of society) and the ecosystem, through the environmental
conduct of the businessman. In this sense, the question arises: What is the role of Sinaloa's
environmentally certified companies in the functioning of the Socioecological System of
Sinaloa? The objective is to determine their role with respect to the environmental certification
promoted by the Federal Attorney's Office for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA), their
contribution and to determine the alternatives that allow maintaining a positive relationship
between the companies and the ecosystem. This research is subscribed in the quantitative
methodology, a descriptive statistical analysis was performed, which helps to explain the existing
relationships of the entrepreneur's behavior with respect to environmental.
